Violette M. Powell-Dohlenkopf, 101, of Northampton, died Jan. 14, 2013, at Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Walter D. Powell and the wife of the late Joseph F. Dohlenkopf.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late James and Jessie (Dunn) Wilmington.

She was last employed in the accounting department of Spiegel Catalog for three years before retiring. Before that, she worked for Frankfort Arsenal, Philadelphia, as a taper for 28 mm casings for four years, and at Windsor Hosiery, Philadelphia, as a bar topper for four years. She was a Bell Telephone Company, Philadelphia, phone operator for three years.

She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Catasauqua.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Jessie Berlin Lodge 492, Catasauqua, and a member of the White Shrine 27, Allentown.

She is survived by a daughter, Joy A. and her husband Willet E. Thomas of Macungie.; three grandchildren, Willet W. and his wife Catherine Thomas of Northampton, Suzanne J. and her husband James Clarke of Sellersville, and, Amy E. and her husband John Benninger of Fogelsville; and five great - grandchildren; Ashley, Jacob, Kimberly, Jessica Leigh and Alexis.

She was predeceased by two sisters; Evelyn Clark and Lillian Vantre.
