Ethel A. (Laury) Barthel, 80, of North-ampton, died Jan. 13, 2013, at Gracedale, Nazareth. She was the wife of the late Hampton G. Barthel Sr.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Bessie (Staufflet) Laury.

She was a sewing machine operator for the former Tama Manufacturing and the former D&D Shirt Factory, both of Northampton, for 32 years before retiring.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Northampton.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandy and her husband Dale Trach of Danielsville; a son, Hampton Jr., and his wife Della of Spokane, Wash.; four brothers, David and his wife Eleanor Laury of Allentown, Gene and his wife June Laury of Allentown, Daniel and his wife Lori Laury of Minn., and Dennis and his wife Diane Laury of Northampton; four grandsons, Jeremy Trach, Matthew Barthel and David and Mitchell; two great-grandsons, Ethan Trach and Alexander Barthel; and two great-grandaughters, Ava Barthel and Aurora.

She was predeceased by two brothers; and three sisters.
