Benjamin R. Hicks, 81, of Whitehall, died Jan. 11, 2013, at the St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Lucille A. (Carrescia) Hicks.

Born in West Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Benjamin R. and Emma O. (Minnich) Hicks.

He was in the U.S. Navy and served on a destroyer during the Korean War.

Before retiring, he was a plant superintendent at Ingersoll Rand.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Fullerton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert and his wife Michelle; three brothers, Dennis and his wife Betsy Hicks, William Hicks and Richard and his wife Kathy Hicks; three sisters, Patricia and her husband Bernie Klotz, Francis Reppert and Katherine and her husband Michael Kubinsky; and three grandchildren, Alyssa, Jenna and John.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Earl, Jeff, Gene, and George; and a sister, Thelma.
