Ruth E. Skvoretz, 91, formerly of Catasauqua, died Jan. 10, 2013, at her residence, Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late John V. Skvoretz Sr.

Born in Catasauqua, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Weaver) Heffelfinger.

She worked in the payroll department for the former Graver Tank Company, Catasauqua. She was a secretary for 16 years for the Catasauqua Area School District.

She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, North Catasauqua.

She is survived by three daughters, Marie and her husband Karl Vinup of Allentown, Carol and her husband Thomas Boob of Mingoville, and Janet and her husband Joseph Smith of Wooster, Ohio; two sons, John V. Jr. and his wife Gretchen of Tampa, Fla. and David and his wife Patti of Northampton; a sister, Marion Hahn and her husband Howard of North Catasauqua; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Harold.
