John Oscipok

John Oscipok, 96, a Fullerton resident for 60 years, died Jan. 13, 2013, in his home. He was the husband of the late Ann J. (Mankos) Oscipok for 61 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mildred (Kunsman) Oscipok.

He attended Northampton High School.

He was in the U.S. Army World War II and was a paratrooper with the 17th Airborne Division. He was in the first group to jump into Germany. He received a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.

He was a turn foreman in air, water and steam for 42 years at Bethlehem Steel until he retired.

He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a life member the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714, Northampton. He was a golfer with the Bethlehem Steel League.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandra L. and her husband Ronald Decker of Palmerton; and two grandchildren, Susan Decker-Guzman and her husband Brian Guzman and Jonathan E. Decker and his fiancee Katie Hamill and a great-grandson Charlie, all in Manhattan.

He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lucky of Northampton.
