Elementary News

There will be no school Jan. 25 for a teacher in-service.

Jan. 24 marks the end of the second marking period. Report cards will be distributed Feb. 4.

Northwestern Elementary

Box Tops collection will occur the first week in February.

Partners in Education Movie Night will be at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 1 in the gym. The movie will be "Hotel Transylvania."

The second marking period awards assembly will take place 9:30 a.m. Feb. 6 for morning kindergarten and grades three, four and five and 1:30 p.m. for afternoon kindergarten and first and second grades.

The lost and found box is accumulating a large number of items.

Students should check the box by the office, if they are missing anything. Writing the student's name on the collar of clothing items would be helpful.

Weisenberg Elementary

The PTO of Weisenberg Elementary School, 2665 Golden Key Road, Weisenberg Township, will be hosting its 15th annual Family Night from 6-9 p.m. Feb. 2.

The night will begin with a Children's DJ Dance party featuring "Woody Dee's."

Parents can bid on fantastic deals at a silent auction fundraiser and children can take a chance on more than 45 prizes at the Chinese auction.

There will also be a mini live auction conducted by Zettlemoyer Auctions.

A total of 150 items were donated by local businesses, Weisenberg families and teachers with all proceeds benefitting the students.

At 7:15 p.m. the fun will move to a variety of activities throughout the school.

There will be four different crafts to do in the cafeteria and there will be activities in various classrooms, including the very popular Crazy Hair Salon and facepainting.

Everyone can try their luck with some of the games, such as disc derby, beanie buckets, basketball shoot and bingo.

There also will be a photo booth this year.

The refreshment stand will offer a meal deal of hotdog, pizza, chili or mac and cheese, a bag of chips and a drink for a small fee.

Teachers and staff will once again host a bake sale to benefit the Weisenberg Scholarship Fund.

More than 35 former students will be returning to the school to volunteer at Family Night.

Members of the Northwestern Lehigh High School Key Club will help at the door with ticket sales and the complimentary coat check.

Local Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops will help with the games, activities and crafts.

Snow date is Feb. 9.

Chinese auction tickets and admission tickets will be available Jan. 29, 30 and 31.
