The Youth Group of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will serve a lunch of spuds and suds 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 27.

The spuds will be found at a baked potato bar with more than 15 toppings, such as chili, sour cream, cheese and broccoli, veggies, meats and sauces.

The suds consist of birch beer, lemonade and diet soda.

Profits benefit the Youth Group and the Northern Lehigh Food Bank.

The public is welcome to partake of this economical luncheon while enjoying some fellowship on a winter Sunday.

Union UCC has an ongoing project collecting food for the Northern Lehigh Food Bank.

In 2012, church members contributed 10,697 pounds of food for people in need in the local area.

The Upper Lehigh Lions Club reports 110 children had their pictures taken with Santa at the December breakfast.

The Upper Lehigh Lioness Lions Club donated $300 to a fund for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The Parkland Leo Club inducted 19 new members in November.

Upper Lehigh Lions Jim Osmun, Myles Miller, Henry Shoemaker and Gene Wolfgang serve as liaisons to the high school club.

The Leos help serve meals to patrons at the Lions Club breakfasts in the Schnecksville Fire Hall.

John Mondschein is the Leo Club advisor at Parkland High School.
