Students at Weisenberg Elementary have been earning Tiger Tickets for exhibiting Positive Character Traits throughout the school year.
School staff have been handing out tickets to students they see displaying the positive trait of the month.
Last September's trait was respect. In October 2012, students were recognized for showing responsibility.
November 2012's trait was cooperation and December's trait was honesty.
Tickets may be used to attend a movie in the gym or to buy food, drink and more.
In December 2012, students could use their tickets to buy a cup of hot cocoa during lunch.
Reading Specialist Lisa McGrath, who headed the event, said 65 students participated.
Twenty-five were first- and second-grade students.
Forty were members of grades three through five. Students with special dietary needs were also accommodated and could have a cup of cocoa during lunch.
The cocoa, prepared by Weisenberg PTO members, was served by the school staff.
