Richard R. Yost, 88, of Coplay, died Dec. 22, 2012, at Sacred heart Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Ernestine (Recker) Sauerzopf Yost.
Born in Stiles, he was a son of the late Adolph and Cecilia (Failer) Yost.
He was a 1943 graduate of Whitehall High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was awarded three bronze stars.
He was a packer for the former Coplay Cement Company, and retired in 1984.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Coplay.
He was a member of the VFW Post 7293 and a life member of the West Coplay Mannerchor.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Caroline Dunleavy of Berwyn; a grandson, Aidan Dunleavy; two sisters, Hilda of Whitehall and Emma Kornfeind of Florida; and three brothers, John and Leonard, both of Whitehall, and Alfred of Las Vegas, Nev.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Hilda (Buchfeller) Yost; a son, Richard "Dickie" Yost; two sisters, Emily Makovsky and Cecilia; and three brothers, Adolph Jr., Edward and Herbert.
