Police departments investigate abduction, jewelry store robbery

South Whitehall and Bethlehem Police are conducting a joint investigation into the Dec. 28, 2012, abduction of a Bixler's store employee from his Bethlehem home and the armed robbery of the jewelry store at 3900 Hamilton Blvd., South Whitehall Township.

Police say at approximately 7 p.m., the employee was forced by three armed men to open a safe at the store and to remove Rolex watches and jewelry.

The amount of merchandise taken has not been determined, South Whitehall police say.

The first man is described as standing approximately 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds.

He wore glasses, dark clothing, had a light-colored face covering and a knit cap with a stripe.

The second man was wearing a dark colored jacket with hood, dark clothing and a light-colored face covering.

The third man is described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.

The employee's green Toyota Camry with license plate HGV-5710 was taken and is still missing.

Bethlehem Police Lt. Mark DiLuzio spoke with The Press on Dec. 31, 2012.

DiLuzio said his department and South Whitehall Police are conducting a joint investigation.

With respect to the family, Diluzio would not release any additional information.

South Whitehall Township Police are asking anyone with information about this abduction and robbery to call 610-398-0337.
