John T. Gillette, 79, died Dec. 21, 2012, at the Phoebe Home, Allentown.

Born in Lehighton, he was a son of the late John C. and Mary (Cherowich) Gillette.

He was a cryptologist for the National Security Agenecy for 40 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.

He is survived by three daughters, Yvonne Leese, Christina Ryan and Cherrly and her husband Michael O'Donnell; six sisters, Agnes Berg, Elizabeth Arey, Mary Ann Sterner, Angela Resh, Theresa Gillette and Margaret Rawson; six brothers, Joseph, Paul, Peter, Edward, Anthony and Timothy Gillette; seven grandchildren, Shannon, Phillip and Stephen Ryan and Taylor, Fallon, Ryan and Peyton O'Donnell; nieces; and nephews.
