Northwestern Lehigh libraries are having a Barnes and Noble Book Fair 6-8 p.m. Jan. 11, at Lehigh Valley Mall.

Northwestern Elementary second-grade students will perform at 6:30 p.m. A cookie eating contest will take place at 7 p.m.; Dylan Rex performs at 7:30 p.m. and guest readers will be at 6:45 p.m., 7:15 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and at 7:45 p.m. A percentage of purchase price will benefit the libraries.

Floating inservice day is currently scheduled for Jan. 22. The second marking period will end Jan. 24 and report cards will be distributed Jan. 29. These days are tentative and could change if there are any snow days.

There is a Partners In Education meeting scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Jan. 4 in the cafeteria. Pre-schoolers are always welcome to attend.

4-H will begin Jan. 9 for second grade; Jan. 16 for third grade and Jan. 23 for fourth and fifth grades.

Fifth-grade chorus will rehearse 8:10-9 a.m. every Tuesday.

Market Day pick-up is scheduled for 5-6 p.m. Jan. 16 in the gym. Deadline to order is Jan. 9.

All students in kindergarten through fifth grade have finished their drawings for the Square 1 Art Fundraiser.

Their colorful square drawings were completed with a signature and the year they completed their artwork.

Students' artwork can be printed on a variety of items they can wear, use or display.

Students will be receiving a free set of stickers of their artwork around Jan. 8.

Also, catalogs of the items to purchase will be sent home at the same time.

All orders need to be completed by Jan. 22.

Finished products will be shipped to the school in mid February.
