Donald F. Suranofsky Sr., 73, of Northampton, died Dec. 21, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Janice E. (Nichols) for 25 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Peter Suranofsky Sr. and Mae (Lindenmoyer).

He was last employed with Interstate Iron of Whitehouse, N.J., as a welder/fitter for 11 years before retiring in 1998.

He was an active member of Egypt Community Church, Whitehall.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Catherine A. and her husband Michael Iliff of Northampton and Susan M. and her husband Allen Hammons of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Donald F. Jr. and his wife, Michele of Catasauqua; two stepsons, Christopher E. and his wife Jody Hilt of Northampton and Duane R. and his wife Sheri Hilt of Walnutport; a stepdaughter, Tina Hilt of Northampton; three sisters, his twin Diane and her husband Joseph Szerencsits of Northampton, Elizabeth and her husband Edward Wandler, and Jacqueline Reppert of Northampton; a brother, Frank and his wife Phyllis of Northampton; and 10 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by seven brothers, Martin, Franklin, Larry, Peter, Jr., Dennis, Milton and Jack; and two sisters, Maryann Hoffman and Rita Sedonic.
