Cetronia Fire Chief Jay Heicklen recently presented Herman Otto, of Upper Macungie, a plaque thanking him for his 40 years of service to the fire department.

Otto has been the chief engineer for many of those years and is responsible for the overall condition of the fire apparatus in the department.

Otto provided a good deal of the labor and expertise needed to complete the restoration of a 1947 Maxim pumper in the 1980s.
