Betty L. Herbinger, 98, of Whitehall and formerly of Northampton, died Dec. 13, 2012, at Fellowship Community, Whitehall Township. She was the wife of the late Karl J. Herbinger.
Born in Neu Ulm, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Friederick and Mathilde Preschenk.
She was a maitre-d and a coat check worker, who also performed other duties for the Blue Bell Inn, Blue Bell, and the former Gourmet Inn, Northampton, for 35 years. In Germany, from 1932 to 1954, she was a seamstress.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, Berlinsville.
She is survived by a son; Reinhold "Ron" J. and his wife Dorothy of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren; Ingrid K. and her husband Nathan Eckhart of Coplay, Jennifer L. and her husband Eric Hoffman of Northampton, Sharon L. Friedel of Whitehall, and Jeffrey M. and his wife Dina Friedel of Pittsburgh; and seven great-grandchildren; Brandyn, Lauren, Mia, Henry, Paul, Jeffrey and Christopher.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Ilona M. Friedel.
