Richard J. Hower, 86, of South Whitehall Township, died Dec. 6, 2012, at home. He was the husband of the late Bernadine H. (Vrablec) Hower and the late Virginia S. (Sweeney) Kunkle Hower.

Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Augustus and Esther (Rieker) Hower.

He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

He was a photo finisher for the former K-Photo, Allentown, and the former Guardian Photo, Catasauqua, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Allentown.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Calvary Council, Allentown.

He is survived by a son, Richard M. of Delanco, N.J.; two granddaughters, Sarah and Rebecca; a sister, Agnes Boyle of Macungie; and other family members.
