Santa Claus will be visiting the Neffs Volunteer Fire Company, 3755 Park Avenue, Neffs, between 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 22.

In addition to a visit from the Jolly Ol' Elf, there will be light refreshments of milk and cookies provided by local businesses and holiday coloring activities for the kids.

There will also be a mailbox on site for those last minute letters to the North Pole.

Parents will be allowed to snap pictures of Ol' St. Nick with their children.

Members of the Youth Group of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, will share their Christmas spirit with residents of Phoebe Nursing Home, Allentown.

After attending services at their own church Dec. 23, the youth will lead a worship program and caroling at Phoebe.

The young people are planning to read, greet, sing, play music and smile to brighten the season for the elderly residents.

On Christmas Eve, the youth group will decorate the church grounds with luminaries.

College students will lead the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Dec. 30 at Union UCC.

On Christmas Eve, the church will have a family service with candlelight at 5 p.m. and communion, and candlelight services at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Church staff say the service of candlelight symbolizes the mystery of Christmas and the wonder of faith.

Guests are invited to share the holy night and express the longing for peace.

The Sunday School youth of St. John's United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, are helping to spread warmth to inner city children through a recent scarf project.

As part of a Rally Day celebration, St. John's kids made 140 scarves using the theme, "Wrapping Ourselves in God's Words."

Each child kept one for himself or herself, then designated a scarf to give away to another child at a different place.

These scarves were donated to The Caring Place in Allentown, a center which provides before- and after-school care in the city.

The scarf project was part of St. John's 140th anniversary celebration. Continuing with the "140" idea, Pastor James Gottwald challenged the children to learn 140 verses from the Bible.

In December, the young people have been sharing their memorized verses with the congregation.

On Dec. 24, St. John's will have a family service at 6 p.m. and a traditional candlelight service at 8 p.m.

The Christmas music prelude will begin 20 minutes prior to worship time.

Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will offer four services on Christmas Eve.

The 3 p.m. family service will feature the church's youngest musical choir, Kids of the Kingdom.

Another family service at 5 p.m. will showcase the Youth Singers and the Junior Jingalingers.

The 8 p.m. candlelight service is a contemporary worship setting with the Praise Band leading worship. Traditional carols will be presented in modern arrangements, as well as some new songs.

The 11 p.m. candlelight service has the Union Chorale singing favorite carols and beautiful anthems.

Holy Communion will be offered at all times.
