According to Mike Bower and Joe Beiler, the 63rd annual Juried Holiday Fine Arts and Craft Festival Nov. 10 and 11 in Keystone Hall at Kutztown University, was a great success.

"Constant customers" kept the two busy manning the entrance table at the Holiday Fair, a kickoff to Thanksgiving and Christmas fun time.

The fair presented by the Reading Berks Chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, Pennsylvania German Scholarship Studies, Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center and Kutztown University, presented a diversity of wares by a variety of artists.

Every hour also featured the giveaway of a gift certificate, according to Denise Welz, who manned the entrance table to await the winners.

"You must be present to win!" Welz exclaimed as the only catch to winning the gift certificate.

The event was also serenaded by "The Prestige," a band of three men, Danny, Nick and Mark, from the Reading area, who had an exquisite sound to shop by.

Pat Getz was also enjoying herself at the fair, as she modeled some of the hand-painted silk shirts that she could not decide on.

"They are all great, which one would you pick?" Getz asked.

"They also fit anyone, they are absolutely gorgeous" smiling as she held up several of the beautiful shirts designed by Wilfriede Axsmith of "Silken Garb" which featured "Handpainted Wearable Art."

Cheryl Bower of "Lamp-work Glass" said she loves her craft and being at the show.

She has being doing her glass artwork for more than six years.

Another favorite was Mary Calehuff's Nodders.
