Amy Vaughn of New Tripoli, a junior at Lycoming College and a member of the Greek organization Alpha Sigma Tau, was inducted into Lycoming's chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha National Greek Academic Honor Society.

Gamma Sigma Alpha, National Greek Academic Honor Society, was founded to promote intellectual interaction between Greek students and the academic community.

Students are eligible for membership with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above and active membership in a Greek fraternity or sorority.

Megan Seier, of Breinigsville, was accepted for the fall 2013 semester at Coastal Carolina University, Conway, S.C.

Seier, a Parkland High School student, plans to major in musical theater.

Student named

to dean's list

Daniel West of Breinigsville was named to the dean's list for the 2012 spring semester at Berklee College of Music, Boston, Mass.

To be eligible for this honor, a full-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or above; a part-time student must achieve a grade point average of 3.6 or above.

Student inducted

into honor society

Hannah Fleishman of Allentown, a junior at Emerson College majoring in marketing communication, was inducted into the Emerson's chapter of the Golden Key Honor Society in a ceremony at the Tufte Performance and Production Center's Semel Theater.

Fleishman and the other 98 Emerson inductees received a certificate of achievement at the ceremony.

She was granted induction for being among the top 5 percent of her class.

Student awarded

scholarship

Jason Susko of Allentown has been selected for the James R. Myers Memorial Scholarship at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

This scholarship is awarded to a senior elementary education major with a concentration in mathematics or a middle level mathematics education major.

Jason is the son of Jim and Annette Susko and a 2009 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

A provost scholar, Susko is the secretary of the Catholic Student Association, assistant catechist for faith formation at St. Thomas More University Parish and a member of the Middle Level Education Association.

He also participates in Teachers Evolve and Change with Help program, a statewide initiative to link college students with outstanding Pennsylvania educators.

Brandon Bubba and Kelsey Groves, both of Allentown, attained a 3.5 GPA or greater in the fall 2011 semester at Fairfield University and qualified for the dean's list.

Larissa Tauber of Allentown and Maranda Powell of Germansville both attained a GPA of 3.6 or better in their spring semesters at Geneva College, Beaver Falls, and were named dean's list honorees.

Tauber is a freshman studying Christian ministries. Powell is a freshman studying psychology.

Rachel Horowitz of Allentown graduated magna cum laude from the University of Hartford at the school's commencement ceremony May 20.

Horowitz received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology.

Meghan Kelly of Allentown was recently named to the dean's list for the spring 2012 semester at Ithaca College.

Kelly is a senior majoring in performance at Ithaca College's School of Music.
