Ho-ho-ho himself! Santa Claus and his helpers will be riding around the township in a big, bright-red fire truck noon until 4 p.m. Dec. 8. Rain date is Dec. 15.

Whether you have been naughty or nice, you are welcome to come out and wait by the roadside to see Santa.

Specific stops include: 2 p.m. at Northwestern Lehigh High School and the strip mall at Routes 309 and 100.

There will be free goodies for the kids.

That's the spirit! Donations of Christmas cookies for the Allentown Soup Kitchen may be dropped off 6-7 p.m. Dec. 10 in Heidelberg Church's fellowship hall.

Also being sought after are gently used blankets, clothing, coats, shoes, boots, hats and gloves.

Hammin' it up! On Dec. 14, the Germansville Fire Company is having a huge ham raffle 7-9 p.m. The public is invited.

Each ticket purchased includes a free platter with refreshments and a chance to win one or more of the 100 holiday ham certificates.

This year's tickets are sponsored by Bake Oven Salon, Routes 309 and 100, New Tripoli.

With the fire company in mind, have you purchased your reflective house numabers yet?

If not, call the fire company and leave your name, address and phone number and someone will get back to you.

The numbers not only make a perfect Christmas present but are also very important for identifying your house in case of an emergency.

Food favorites! Germansville Fire Company is once again taking orders for its most delicious Christmas potato filling and hot bacon dressing.

Place orders no later than Dec. 21 by calling Harold Hoppes at 610-767-4400.

Bring your own container for your filling to the upstairs kitchen anytime between 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 24.

Thanks to the efforts of many, Central Grange 1650 of Germansville is happy to report 931 shoofly pies were baked and purchased at the Germansville Fire Company during the last election.
