The Central Catholic boys football team defeated Selinsgrove High School Nov. 30 by a margin of 41-13, in the quarterfinal round of the state playoffs.
Led by senior captains Anthony Beck, Andrew Englebert, Colin McDermott and Anthony Lynch, the team hopes to continue their success in the upcoming semifinal game against Archbishop Wood High School. The game will be held 7 p.m. Dec. 7 at Bethlehem School District's stadium.
The Central Catholic booster club membership application is now available on the school's website, acchs.info. The CCHS booster club is a nonprofit organization which exists to serve Central's athletic teams in their financial expenses. The booster club also creates and sells all articles of Viking Spirit Wear, including hats, shirts, sweatpants, magnets and much more. Membership to the CCHS booster club is open to anyone interested in the advancement of Central Catholic High School and students.
To join, send a completed form and the annual fee to Central Catholic. All CCHS families are encouraged to join, as any form of support is greatly appreciated. New members are welcome to attend the meetings which are held 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of every month in the CCHS library. An SAT prep class will be taking place for all CCHS juniors starting Jan. 26, 2013. The class will run 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for five Saturdays. Both English and math classes will be offered.
