Morton D. Smith, 74, of Catasauqua, died Nov. 24, 2012, at Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit, Allentown. He was the husband of Ruthanne (Moyer) Smith for 55 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late William and Myrtle (Coleman) Smith and a stepson of the late Ervin Koehler.

He was a frame driller and forklift operator for Mack Trucks Corporation, Macungie.

He was a union steward for Local 677 UAW, Allentown. He was a director of the Honda Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Phoenix, Ariz., L.V. Chapter A, international, regional and district staff. He was a charter member of the Catasauqua Traveling Little League.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Sheri and her husband Donald Lafaw of South Windsor, Conn., Vicki Perdick of Whitehall and JoAnne and her husband Kevin Marcks of Chester Springs; a son, Dale Robert of N. Catasauqua; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
