The Auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS invites community members to do their holiday shopping 10 a.m.-3 p.m Dec. 2, in the NOVA social hall, 2375 Levans Road, Ormrod.

Avoid mall traffic and crowds while helping to support the ambulance service.

A variety of vendors with name-brand merchandise will be set up with items to appeal to everyone, including toys, accessories, cosmetics, flowers, baskets, kitchen goods, purses and insulated bags and jewelry.

The kitchen will be open for lunch, and homemade baked goods will be available.

Schnecksville Fire Company is having an all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 25.

Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will celebrate Christ the King Sunday at worship services Nov. 25 with stirring hymns and messages relating to the divine majesty of Jesus.

Services are 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. The Rejoicing Spirits service will be at 9:30 a.m.

On Dec. 2, the Fellowship Committee will host the advent social at noon featuring a make-your-own pizza lunch with salad and dessert.

After time for crafts and fellowship, everyone is invited to help deck the halls for the Christmas season.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, begins the Christmas season with an advent celebration at 11:45 a.m. Dec. 2, with a time for fun, food and fellowship.

Brunch will be served; there will be cookies to share, and there will be an opportunity to create an advent wreath.

Always busy with fundraisers, the Upper Lehigh Lions Club works hard to respond to various needs in the community.

The club recently received recognition from the Center for Vision Loss for $5,000 donated between 2011-12.

President Larry Penrose also presented a check for $3,000 to the center for its Education-Vision Rehabilitation project.

This program provides training and adaptation techniques to individuals with vision loss to enable them to live safely in their homes.

The Upper Lehigh Club also received a certificate from the Leader Dog program for a recent contribution.

The club is assembling cookie packages for Meals on Wheels patrons and has volunteered at the Northern Lehigh Food Bank.

Grouse Hall Fish and Game hosted its second annual mentored youth pheasant hunt for local youth ages 12-14 who successfully completed the hunter trapper education classes and have a current Pa. hunting license on Nov. 3.

Seven youth hunters participated in hunting 40 stocked ringneck pheasants.

The George Family Farm partnership provided use of its land for the hunt. Mars Excavating, Clint's Auto Body, Stew's Tire Service, local chapter NWTF, East Penn Re-Builders and Safeguard Business Systems provided assistance to make the day a success for the youth.
