The Emmaus 80-pound Hornets completed their 2012 season with an undefeated 10-0 record and won their end of season tournament hosted by North Parkland. The Hornets defeated Saucon Valley in the semis, 37-18, to advance to the championship game.
The team put on an offensive display by scoring six touchdowns led by the blocking of Nick Davidson, Connor Brophy, Jake Fotta, Trevor Gitski and Chase Fotta. Three touchdowns were scored by Jared Groller, two by Tyson Karrat and one by Lance Farnschlader.
In the championship game the 80s defeated North Parkland 20-0, with the defense only allowing two first downs. Dave Iobst, Andrew Harmon, Austin Schaffer, Aidan Behr, Brent Master and Broc Andrew all had numerous hard-hitting tackles that stymied the Buffalo offense. Winning the tournament was the pinnacle for this team that displayed hard work, dedication and team unity all season long.
The Emmaus Hornets flag team finished their season strong by winning four of its last five games to finish 4-5-1.
As the third seed in the end of season flag tournament hosted by North Parkland, they finished second, upsetting the No. 2 seed Saucon valley in the semis, 14-0. In this game the Hornets were led on offense by Aaron Watkins, Mason Uyvari, Billy Tigar and Nick Zernhelt, with touchdowns scored by Watkins and Uyvari. The defense pulled 27 flags and held Saucon Valley scoreless thanks to outstanding efforts by Chad Kauffman, Jonathan Serrano, Gavin Toman, Zack Blose and Daniel Farkus.
In the finals the Hornets were defeated by a very good North Parkland team, 21-0. The Hornets played hard until the final whistle with outstanding efforts shown by Dakota Cramsey, Josiah Williams, Jonah Miller, Daniel Farkus and Isaiah Daly.
