Lil Hornets top K-Kids in playoff tuneup

The Hornet 125-pound team closed out the regular season with a 25-8 victory over the Northampton K-Kids to boost its record to 6-2.

Noah Breidinger scored three touchdowns and Harrison Ike scored the other on a long run behind a great job by the offensive line. Jarod Kish, Greg Johnson and Paul Shive had strong games on the offensive line. Defensively, Nick Roselli had seven tackles, including three on special teams to set the tone of the game. Giuseppe Carbone and Brett Meilinger had interceptions for the Hornets while Ben Wassel recovered a fumble and was in on numerous tackles. The Hornets open their playoff run this weekend against LCYA (7-1).

The Emmaus 110s scored five touchdowns against the Northampton Konkrete Kids en route to a 30-7 win.

The scoring runs came from Peyton Hyndman, Deonte Castro and Isaiah "Buttas" Serrano. The strong offense headed by quarterback Jackson Karrat, center Ian Kauffman and linemen Antonio Rosko, A.J. Walker, Caden Wright, Jude Negron, Kamron Bertie and Justin Rousenberger, brought Northampton to a screeching halt. The dominant Hornet defense ran through the Kids line all game long, with hard hits and sacks by Rosko, Kauffman and Rousenberger, and three total interceptions by Castro and Negron. The Hornets move into the playoffs with a regular season record of 7-1.

After winning 19-6 on Saturday, against Northampton, the Emmaus Hornet 95-pound team finished its regular season an undefeated 8-0. The Hornet defense dominated the interior and contained the outside making it hard for the K-Kids to muster any type of running game. Textbook tackles, superior coverage and a nose for the ball made the Hornet defense a solid unit. The offensive line consistently opened up holes for the running backs. Kordell Waiters ran for 133 yards bringing his season total to 1257 yards.

In the flag game, the Emmaus offensive line played a very aggressive game, allowing the running backs and quarterbacks to a gain a total of 120 yards and a touchdown in a 7-0 win over the K-Kids. Aaron Watkins ran for 88 yards and a touchdown. Dakota Cramsey, Marco Albanese, Mason Uyvari and Nick Zernhelt ran for a total of 32 yards.

The Hornet defense had its best game of the year. Emmaus had 11 players pull a total of 33 flags. Marco Albanese led the pack with a total of nine flags. Aaron Watkins pulled five flags, Mason Uyvari added another four flags. Jonah Miller, Daniel Farkus, Billy Tigar, Mander Leonard, Dakota Cramsey, Zack Blose and Nick Zernhelt pulled a combined 19 flags.
