William "Bill" J. Kraynick, 79, of Whitehall, died Oct. 1, 2012. He was the husband of Jean K. (Keldsen) Kraynick for 54 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Kremko) Kraynick.

He was in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War.

He worked for many years at Lucent Technologies, where he was president of the IBEW union.

He was a member of St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, Catasauqua.

He was one of the founding members of the First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, Allentown.

He was a judge of election in Whitehall Township.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey and his wife Amy of Cincinnati, Ohio; a daughter, Lori Valent of Coplay; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four sisters, Betty Liddicoat, Marcia Buckno, Phyllis Matilla and Susan Wolf; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Heisler.
