Richard E. Schoemaker, 80, of Northampton, died Sept. 18, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Dolores B. (Cesanek) Schoemaker for 56 years.

Born in Orefield, he was the son of the late Walter and Verna (Miller) Schoemaker.

He retired in 1992 from the Bethlehem Steel Corporation, where he had been a crane operator in Saucon Shipping.

He was a member of Queenship of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Northampton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah Bodnar of Northampton; and two brothers, Robert and his wife Rita Schoemaker of Whitehall and Roger Schoemaker of North Whitehall.

He was predeceased by a son-in-law, David Bodnar; a brother, Donald Schoemaker; and a sister, Irene Holtzhafer.
