Lower Mac topples South Parkland

The 110-pound Mustangs improved to 6-1 on the season with a 37-0 win over South Parkland. Bailey O'Connor opened the scoring with a touchdown run on the second offensive play from scrimmage. O'Connor then contributed to the second score of the day by tossing a touchdown pass to Sone Ntoh. Timmy Higgins added a third score with a touchdown run. Dylan Keenan caught another score on a pass from Vincent Petrizzi. Parker Hanosek completed the scoring with a TD run in the second half.

Throughout the game, the stoudt Mustang defense was led by Colling Ravier, Carlton Lovette, Ryan Sylvia, Brandon Camire and Ryan Todd. Mason Boyd added an interception for the defense. In the second half, the Mustangs established a solid ground attack behind offensive linemen JJ Berhnard, Devin Metzger, Jacob Hexamer, Alex Kleinschmidt and Noah Kociban. Grinding it out in the backfield were Ian Roberts, Nate Miller, Matthew Fabrizio, Gio Lainez, Joey Brennan and Andy Caverly.

The Lower Macungie Mustangs 80-pound team had a strong showing on Saturday against the South Parkland Trojans with a 20-0 victory. Three players found the endzone during the day as Sean Higgins, Zach Younker and Jack Keenan each had rushing touchdowns. The blocking was a key element throughout the day for the Mustangs as Rhamses Londono, Thomas Harthill, Austin Whitesell, Jayden Beson and Ryan DeJohn opened numerous holes throughout the day. The defense stood strong, led by the ends with Matthew Baraket racking up five tackles and Jake DeVita making three key stops. Jonny Caverly added two big tackles on the day and both Brett Patton and Hayden Blatt recorded a tackle for a loss.

In other Lower Mac action, the 95-pound team posted a 28-0 win over South Parkland B and the 125s improved to 7-0 after getting a forfeit win against the Allentown A's. All Mustang teams will round out the regular season this weekend against North Parkland.
