The 64th Annual Jack Frost Parade, presented by the Northampton Exchange Club, will take place on Thursday, Oct. 18, 7 p.m. The rain date is Oct. 25.

The route will be the same as the previous two years.

Candy will be thrown, so bring your goodie bags!

The Northampton Area Food Bank will hold its annual Halloween walkathon Saturday, Oct. 27.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the food bank, 1601 Canal St. The walk will start at 9 a.m.

Participants will walk approximately 4 miles along the canal to the borough's Municipal Park, 16th Street and Laubach Avenue, and back to the food bank.

The Northampton Area Public Library will hold fall children's programs Oct 30-Dec. 13. Children living in the Northampton Area School District are invited to participate.

Toddler Storytime, for 2-year-olds, will be held Tuesdays, 11-11:20 a.m., or Wednesdays, 10-10:20 a.m.

Creative Preschoolers Storytime, for ages 3 and up, will be held Tuesdays, 10-10:45 a.m., or Wednesdays, 10:30-11:15 a.m.

Family Toddler/ Preschool Storytime will be held Tuesday evenings, 6:30-7 p.m.

The Storycraft program for children in kindergarten, first or second grade will be offered on Thursdays, 6-7 p.m.

Reading Buddies is a program that pairs teen volunteers with students in kindergarten to fourth grade. The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for children to practice reading and have fun with books while providing teens with the opportunity to be a positive role model and instilling a love of books. Choose 15-minute time slots on Tuesday afternoons from 4 to 6 p.m.

Registration for the programs is under way at the library, 1615 Laubach Ave., and will continue until the sessions are filled. You must have a current library card to register.

The Northampton Area Public Library will hold its annual autumn basket social on Friday, Oct. 19, 6 p.m., at the Northampton Memorial Community Center, 16th Street and Laubach Avenue.

Donations of new or collectible items, gift certificates/cards and monetary donations to help defray expenses are being accepted.

Food will be available for purchase.

The Northampton Memorial Community Center, 16th Street and Laubach Avenue, hosts bingo every Monday night. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the games begin at 7 p.m.

The kitchen is open.

Proceeds benefit the Northampton Recreation Center.
