Northwestern Lehigh celebrates Homecoming
Northwestern Lehigh High School's 2012 Homecoming Queen Sara Jones was chosen Sept. 29 during half-time at the football game against Notre Dame.
Her king, Thomas "Joey" Duffy III, was crowned the next evening at the Homecoming dance.
The new queen is the daughter of Todd and Christine Jones.
Her high school activities include basketball, soccer, field hockey, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and serving as president of Key Club.
After graduation, she plans to attend a four-year university.
Her escort for the evening was JP Bittenbender, the son on Jim and Kim Bittenbender.
He participated in high school science club, basketball and track and field.
He wants to attend Ohio State to study for a career in medicine.
The 2012 king is the son of Amy Duffy.
His high school activities include cross country and track and field.
Following graduation, he plans to attend college where he will study physical therapy.
Contestants for Homecoming Queen and members of her court included:
·Lauren Alden, the daughter of Brad and Darla Alden. Her escort was Shawn Zimmerman, the son of Jeffrey and Lisa Zimmerman.
·Hannah Baker is the daughter of John and Mary Baker. Her escort was Michael Ortiz, the son of Michael and Michele Ortiz.
·Sydney Frisch is the daughter of Kelly and Wally Frisch. She was escorted by the soon-to-be 2012 Homecoming King, Joey Duffy.
·Abby Heydlauf is the daughter of Werner and Allison Heydlauf. Her escort for the evening was Tyler Hartmann, the son of Jeanne and Mike Yeakel.
·Kayla Olson is the daughter of Kent and Carol Ann Olson. Her escort for the evening was Patrick Strobel, the son of Richard Strobel and Jayne Vickery.
·Kaleen Suter is the daughter of David and Marcia Suter. Her escort for the evening was Boston Furjanic, the son of Todd Furjanic.
·Jordan Veppert is the daughter of Joseph and Suzann Veppert. Her escort was Tyler Stelmack, the son of Mark and Michelle Stelmack.
Also competing for Homecoming king was Mason Schuler, the son of Tracy Eichelberger and Jeff Schuler.
He plans to attend college, play football or join ROTC following graduation.
