Elementary students will be dismissed at noon Oct. 5. There will be no school Oct. 8 due to a teachers' in-service.

Come join the fun at the Germansville Fire Company 9-11 p.m. Oct 20. Doors open 8 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Northwestern Lehigh boys and girls basketball teams.

Comedian Jimmy Carroll, of the Philadelphia area, will provide entertainment.

Northwestern Elementary

Kindergarten through fifth grade students will participate in Safety Day on Oct. 5. They will learn different safety tips for both inside and outside the home.

Kindergarten students will participate in Safety Town, a special program designed by the Lehigh Valley Hospital. All kindergarten students are to attend the morning session.

Weisenberg Elementary

The PTO needs help stuffing its school bus with non-perishable and nonbreakable food items. Each grade will have a part of the bus to stuff. The grade that collects the most food will win a Popsicle party.

This will help Weisenberg families have a good school start with pantries full of food.

The bus is in the lobby outside the gym entrance. Each part of the bus is labeled with a grade.

Kindergarten and first grade will stuff the engine compartments. Second through fifth grade will stuff the section of the bus labeled above each window.

Gently place the food into the school bus in the right grade section so the correct grade receives credit toward the party.

The PTO will be collecting food until Oct. 19.
