Boys soccer ties Allen

Northampton tied Allen 0-0 in a game from last week played at J.Birney Crum Stadium Tuesday night.

The game featured lots of cross balls into the box, through balls and controlled play in the midfield. Allen's strength was playing the ball wide.

Northampton's defense shut down Allen's quick play attack, led by Julian Santos, Ian Miller, Sam Gaye and John Yeaw.

Northampton midfielders Marucs Morris, Nick Stewart, AJ Schroettner, and Josh Schoenberger did a great job sending balls to the flags and generating shots but the Kids couldnt put the ball into the net.

Tim Kelly made a great run to the net in the second overtime and was taken out by Allen keeper Nick Santone, but no call was made by the official. Earlier in OT, Romeo Gaye appeared to be making a break to the goal but was also taken down from behind by an Allen defender. Again, no call was made. Coach Carvin was frustrated by the officials ability to swallow their whistles.

Northampton did a great job knocking the ball around on the smooth turf. They seemed to control the tempo of the game most of the night. Kory DeCesaris made six saves for Northampton.
