Lil' Hornets buzz past Upper Saucon

The 125-pound Hornet football team defeated the Upper Saucon Storm 19-8 to improve to 4-1 on the season. Alex Soucy and threw first half touchdown passes to Brent Meilinger and Liam Toomey. The ground game was successful with eight running backs getting positive yardage and Corbin Carraghan running for a touchdown. The Hornet defense played a solid game with Ryan Thomas and Ben Maehrer making numerous tackles in the backfield.

The 110 pounders brought home a win against the Upper Saucon Storm, 25-6. The Emmaus offense came alive in the second half, with scoring drives by Jackson Karrat, Deonte Castro and Sean Vandine. The Hornet defense stung aggressively, with Max Eugster, Isaiah Serrano and AJ Walker storming through Upper Saucon's offense throughout the game.

The Emmaus Hornet 95-pound team put together another sound performance on both sides of the ball to earn a 19-0 win. Offensively the line opened up lanes for the running backs to consistently move the ball forward and control most of the game clock. The stingy defense didn't allow much running room, forcing the Storm to go to their passing game. But the Emmaus secondary was up to the task, reading and reacting well to make it hard to complete the air threat. The win made the Hornets the only unbeaten team at the 95-pound level.

The Emmaus 80s shut out the South Parkland Trojans in a hard fought game 13-0 to improve their record to 5-0. Tyson "T-Bone" Karrat led the Hornet offense by scoring two touchdown runs of three and 35 yards. Late in the game, the Trojans drove the ball down to the Emmaus three, but the Hornet defense stuffed South Parkland on four consecutive plays. The Hornets then drove the ball 97 yards for their last score behind the blocking of Chase Fotta, Broc Andrew and Brent Master.

The Emmaus Hornet Flags played a thrilling game against the Upper Saucon Storm Flags team which ended with a tie score of 18-18. Emmaus' offensive line paved the way for the running backs to gain a combined total of 190 yards and three touchdowns. Aaron Watkins gained 97 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries. Marco Albanese gained 29 yards and one touchdown on two carries. Nick Zernhelt gained 38 yards on three carries and Billy Tigar and Josiah Williams gained an additional 26 yards. Mason Uyvari and Nick Zernhelt had tremendous blocks which led the way for Watkins' second TD of the game. The flags defense also played a fantastic game led by Marco Albanese and Zack Blose.
