The Northampton Area Historical Society will host a talk tonight, Thursday, Sept. 27, 7 p.m., at the Northampton Fire Department, 1 Lerchenmiller Drive.

Douglas Peters will speak on the trolleys of the Lehigh Valley.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

The historical society will also hold a garage sale Saturday, Oct. 6, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Siegfried Railroad Station, West 21st Street.

Those interested in donating items are asked to bring them to the station Oct. 4 and 5, 6-8 p.m.

A mum sale will be held that day as well.

The Northampton Area Public Library will hold fall children's programs Oct 30-Dec. 13. Children living in the Northampton Area School District are invited to participate.

Programs include Toddler Storytime for 2-year-olds, Creative Preschoolers Storytime for ages 3 and up. Family Toddler/Preschool Storytime, Storycraft and Reading Buddies.

Registration for the programs will begin in the library, 1615 Laubach Ave., on Monday, Oct. 1, 9 a.m., and continue until the sessions are filled. You must have a current library card to register.
