The 2012 Catasauqua and North Catasauqua Halloween Parade is on the calendar to begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17.

Volunteers are needed in order to continue this community tradition.

The parade is not sponsored by either one of the two boroughs, and is subject to cancellation if enough volunteer help is not received to form a committee.

Registration forms for those wishing to march, walk or ride in the parade are available at Schlegel's Dry Cleaning, 120 Race St., Catasauqua, and at North Catasauqua Borough Hall, 1066 Fourth St.

Forms can also be downloaded at catasauqua.org.

The registration deadline is Sept. 30.

Entries after this date will be placed in the last division.

The parade will follow the same route as in past years: along Race, Second, Bridge, Third and Arch streets, ending at the North Catasauqua Park.

The rain date is Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Trick or Treat Night in North Catasauqua will be Saturday, Oct. 27, with a rain date of Oct. 28.

The Porter-Chapman Masonic Lodge will be hosting an open house on Sunday, Nov. 4 from 2 to 5 p.m.

The event will feature a sale of Tastefully Simple, Longaberger® And "Thirty–one" Life Simplified products and a mini Chinese auction.

The lodge is located at 1103 Sixth St.
