The Coplay Scholarship Fund Committee and Councilman Bill Leiner will sponsor the "Save The Coplay Public Library" 1/2 marathon, run walk or bike Oct. 6 at 9 a.m., starting at 41 N. Eighth St.

Prizes will be awarded to the fastest male and female runners; fastest biker and fastest walker.

The Coplay Recreation Association is accepting registrations for the approaching Halloween parade.

Bands, floats, organizations and individuals are invited to participate in the parade, slated for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16.

Registrations can be submitted at the borough office, located at Fourth and Center streets, at the borough website at www.boroughofcoplay.org or by calling 610-262-8028.

The Coplay Garden Club meets this evening, 7 p.m., at the social hall of St. John's Lutheran Church on South Third Street. The club holds a special program at each of its sessions, which are open to the public.

Tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 28, volunteers from St. John's Lutheran Church will help the region's Daybreak Soup kitchen.
