The Northampton girls soccer team picked up its first win of the season last week.

The girls blanked Dieruff 2-0 on Sept. 13.

NHS scored a goal in the first and second half to secure the win. Leandra Sterner scored in the first half off an assist from Krista Schroettner. In the second half, Sarah Fribanck found the back of the net on a pass from Lauren Sterner.

Northampton would fall to Bethlehem Catholic on Sept. 15, 5-1.

The girls held the Hawks to just one first half goal, but the floodgates opened in the second half and Becahi outscored NHS 4-1 that half.

The Hawks Abby Guman had two big goals in the win. She scored in the first half to make it 1-0 and then broke a 1-1 tie to make it 2-1 in the second half. Bridget Smith made the score 3-1 off an assist from Guman and Mackenzie Bento made it 4-1 before Guman would assist Hanna O'Reilly for the fifth goal.

Leandra Sterner would score Northampton's only goal, which came in the second half and made the score 1-1. Schroettner would get the assist.

Shelby Herstine had 12 saves.
