No, they are not on the FBI's Most Wanted List, but their killers should be.
Jeb and Dude, bloodhound and lab mix dogs, were found Aug. 31 shot to death seven miles from their Lynn Township home.
According to owner Stacey Jones, of Scholler Road, she and her son let out the 125 pound pets during the evening of Aug. 28.
Jebediah "Jeb" Jones and his pal "Deuteronomy "Dude" Jones were last seen around 10 p.m. that night by two people, some six miles from their home.
The family looked for the dogs for two days and posted flyers throughout the community, including the post office and Blose's market, Route 309, New Tripoli.
That Friday, a state trooper from State Police Troop L, Hamburg, called the family with bad news. He had found the bodies of two dogs, dumped down an enbankment near a creek by the Kempton Rod and Gun Club, Pine Creek Road, Kempton.
Jones' husband went to the site to verify the dogs were Jeb and Dude.
"Our vet has confirmed our suspicions they were shot and then taken to that location seven miles from our house and dumped off an embankment near a creek," Jones wrote The Press via email.
Jones also said the dogs' collars had been removed.
"We are slowly piecing things together in hopes of catching whoever did this," Jones wrote. "It appears they died Tuesday night judging by the condition of their bodies and then dumped.
