Ernest "Ernie" J. Huber, of Whitehall, died Aug. 24, 2012. He was the husband of Janet P. (Bernini) Huber.
Born in Cementon, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Emick) Huber.
He was in the U.S. Navy. On V-J Day, he was on a ship to the Philippines, where he was stationed until he returned to the U.S and was discharged.
He was a meat cutter for Acme Markets for 42 years until he retired.
He belonged to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Whitehall, where he was a member of the Golden Agers.
He was a member of Fullerton American Legion Post 367.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses Michael and Diane, James and Rae, Ernest C. and Kimberly, Dr. Stephen and Colette and Janine and William Korpics; 10 grandchildren Michael, Chiara, Mia, John, Anna, Zachary, Benjamin, Sophia, Lia and Matthew; a brother, Richard and his wife Elsie; three sisters, Dorothy and her husband Maynard Strohm, Maryanne and her husband Edward Pohl and Sister Josanne Huber, MSC; a sister-in-law, Patricia Huber; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph.
