Northampton Borough Council continues to accept applications for the vacant council seat.
Registered Democrats in the borough's second ward are eligible to serve in the seat vacated by Sherry Maikits, who moved from the borough to Coplay.
Council could vote as soon as next Thursday to name a person to the empty council slot. The appointment would run through 2013 and the position will be on the ballot next spring.
Several people may have already submitted their names for consideration.
