Lehigh Township column: St. Paul's U.C.C. invites public to health program Sept. 4

You are invited to attend a special presentation at St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Indianland, 787 Almond Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 10 a.m.

An overview of various services available after you have been hospitalized will be presented by Katie McArdle, BS, and admissions coordinator of the Next Step Acute Rehabilitation of Blue Mountain Health Systems.

Many options available to patients will be discussed along with different levels of care available through insurances.

The program is free. Light refreshments will be served.

The Bertsch-Hokendauqua-Catasauqua Watershed Association will sponsor a free educational nature walk on the grounds of the Mary Immaculate Center in Lehigh Township on Saturday, Sept. 15.

Program participants will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the parking lot at Indian Trail Park, which is located at the intersection of Route 248 and Indian Trail Road in Lehigh Township. Participants will leave the parking lot at 10 a.m. for a modest walk at a comfortable pace.

Volunteer naturalists and watershed association directors Bud Cole and Bob Hosking will lead participants through the forests and fields of the Mary Immaculate Center in search of fall wildflowers and migrating birds and butterflies.

Come learn about the nature of this beautiful reach of the Indian Creek Watershed.

This program is part of "Know Your Watershed Days," a weekend of watershed awareness and education being celebrated throughout the Lehigh Valley Sept. 14-16.

"Know Your Watershed Day" is being coordinated by the Watershed Coalition of the Lehigh Valley, in partnership with its community watershed organization members across the Lehigh Valley.
