Rosa Meckes, 96, of Nazareth and formerly of Northampton, died Aug. 11, 2012, at at Gracedale County Home, Upper Nazareth Township. She was the wife of the late Albert F. Meckes.
Born in Coplay, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Steiner) Flamish.
She was a seamstress for Bridals by Faye, Whitehall, for five years before retiring in 1976. Prior to that, she was a seamstress for Bretz's Cleaners, Northampton, for 22 years.
She was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Emmanuelsville, where she was a member of the church's altar guild and of the E.L.C.A. women's group.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn R. Angst and her companion Jerry Mensinger of Northampton; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Meckes of Bath; three grandchildren, Randy Meckes and his wife Diane of Idaho, Trisha and her husband Norm Best of Northampton and Joseph Jr. and his wife Kathy Siekonic of Northampton; and four great-grandchildren, Jennah, Kayla, Zachery and Janelle.
She was predeceased by a son, Ronald A. Meckes.
Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Aug. 19 at the funeral home, 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, followed by an 11 a.m. service at the church, 3175 Valley View Drive, Bath.
