Catasauqua White Biddy team wins National Division

Catasauqua White won the National Division of the Central Whitehall Biddy Baseball League with a 12-2 record.

The team's two losses came to Cementon and Salisbury Blue.

The top-six teams in each division made the playoff tournament. Catty White defeated Egypt Gray in the opening game of the double-elimination event. White fell 12-0 to Laury's, which won the championship.

In the loser's bracket Catty White defeated Catty Brown 10-3. CYAA advanced in the loser's bracket to meet Bowmanstown and lost 30-18. Catty White finished in the top-four in the playoff tournament.

Thirteen players were on the team. First baseman Derek Troxell and pitcher/catcher Austin Brett made the Central Whitehall League All-Star game. The rest of the team's roster included: Jacob Nye (OF), Jalen Lukicsch (OF/2B), Matt Ritter (OF/2B), Mason Schlofer (SS/2B/C), Andrew Torres (P/3B/SS), Zach Scheirer (OF), Sebastian Arias (P/SS), Derek George (OF), Adam Reinhart (P/3B/OF), Tyler Monahan (OF/P) and Jacob Drummer (OF/2B).

"We are all buddies on and off the field," said first baseman Troxell. "I want to thank all the coaches. We had real good coaching."

Travis Brett was the head coach and was assisted by Brian Monahan, Steve Ritter and Dave Troxell.

Troxell was the communicator on the field for the White, letting his teammates know how many outs there were.

Devon Troxell and Bradshaw Henning made the Central Whitehall League Midget All-Star team.
