Richard U. Blum Jr., 63, of Catasauqua, died July 26, 2012. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Stringer) Blum for 37 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Richard U. and Mary (Samer) Blum Sr.

He was a 1967 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

He retired from Verizon.

He was a member of Saint John's United Church of Christ (Mickleys).

He was a member of the B.I.L.Y. group, was a cook and enjoyed making stained glass.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Amanda E.; a grandson and adopted son, Christian; two brothers, Robert and his wife Robin of Reading and James and his wife Rita of Delaware; a sister, Maryellen Arndt of Albrightsville; nephews; and nieces.
