John "Jack" M. Ihm, 89, of Allentown died August 1, 2012, in Luther Crest, Allentown. He was the husband of Dorothy J. (Crozier) Ihm for 68 years.
Born in Altoona he was the son of the late James J. and Minnie (Reid) Ihm.
He was a United States Army Air Force veteran of World War II.
He retired from the Allentown office of Bell of Pennsylvania, where he was director of the executive communication center. He worked previously in the Altoona, Clearfield, Reading and Harrisburg offices.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Allentown, where he served as church usher, an adult Sunday school teacher and as a lay leader.
He served on the board of directors of the Allentown Rescue Mission.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linda and her husband Harvey Joseph of Bethlehem, and Cathy and her husband Lawrence Dugan of Allentown; two sons John R. husband of Frances Ihm of Coplay and Mark R. husband of Patricia Ihm of Kutztown; five grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Melissa Dugan, Damien and his wife Tracey Dugan, Jennifer and her husband Eric Bell, Rebecca Del Villar and Bethany Joseph; and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Jean Oswald; and two brothers, James and Paul Ihm.
