Dr. Loren Kenneth Keim Sr.

Dr. Loren Kenneth Keim Sr., died August 3, 2012, after an unexpected illness. He was the husband of Geraldine Elaine (Lafey) Keim for 48 years.

Raised in Whitehall, he was a son of the late John Kenneth Keim and Louise (Reese) Keim.

He served in the Pennsylvania National Guard and then joined the armed forces for active duty.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from Kutztown University and a master's degree and Ph.D. from Lehigh University.

He was a principal, an assistant superintendent and a superintendent for more than 35 years, working for both the Catasauqua and the Whitehall-Coplay school districts. He retired in 2001 after serving as the Whitehall-Coplay School District's superintendent.

He, his wife and his son opened a Century 21 office, where he was an associate broker and broker-appraiser.

He was a member of St John's U.C.C., Fullerton.

He was a lifetime member of the Fullerton Fire Company, a member of the Masonic affiliation Porter Lodge 284 Free and Accepted Masons (F & AM), Lehigh consistory, and was a 32nd-degree mason.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Loren K. Jr. and his wife Theresa (Hartman) and Wendy L. and Michelle L (Keim) Martlock; seven grandchildren, Bridgett, Caitlin, Logan, Kourtney, Alex, Killian and Arielle; a great-grandchild, Arabelle; and two sisters, Phyllis (Keim) Gutekunst and Adrienne (Keim) Boyer.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Quentin (Sam) Keim and Bartley Keim.
