The Sanctuary at Haafsville, 901 Nestle Way, Breinigsville, has the following dog available for adoption. If you are interested in Ziggy, email adoption inquiries to dogadoptions@thesanctuarypa.org or submit an application online through the Sanctuary at Haafsville’s website at thesanctuarypa.org.Ziggy is looking for a very special adopter. We recently learned that our sweet little Ziggy is blind. While this wasn’t the news we were hoping for, it has helped us better understand the shy, skittish little guy. He has abnormal optic discs, so his pupils don’t dilate when the light changes. He can still see shadows, but that’s about all. Because he cannot see well, new people and unfamiliar surroundings can be scary for him. He may startle easily and needs time to feel safe and learn his surroundings. In his foster home, he loves exploring the yard, playing and wrestling with his foster siblings and curling up next to his foster mama when it’s time to relax. His foster family has gotten to see the sweet, playful pup underneath all that uncertainty. He does great in the car too! We are looking for a patient adopter who will allow Ziggy to adjust at his own pace. He does wonderfully with his foster family’s dogs, and another confident canine companion could be a great source of comfort for him. He is also good with cats! Ziggy may need some extra accommodations, patience, and guidance throughout his life, but special needs certainly doesn’t mean any less deserving! If you have experience with special-needs dogs (or simply have the patience and commitment to learn alongside him) Ziggy would love to find his forever home.
