A walk through time

PRESS PHOTOS BY SHARON SCHRANTZVisitors tour the historic Bortz Log House during an open house hosted by the Lower Macungie Township Historical Society on Oct. 4 in Wescosville. Built around 1790-95 and preserved through restoration efforts by the historical society, the Pennsylvania German log home offers a glimpse into the lives of early settlers who lived and worked along what was then known as the King’s Highway. The open house featured guided tours and demonstrations highlighting 18th- and early 19th-century life in Lower Macungie Township. ABOVE: Board member Jake Laubach plays his banjo.
