Oct. 10
Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Road, Orefield, will be holding its Octoberfest 4 to 6 p.m. in the Family Center at the church. Menu will include bratwurst, sauerkraut, baked potato with toppings, hot dogs, soft pretzels and nonalcoholic beer (birch beer and root beer). Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will hold its annual fall picnic 2 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 10, due to inclement weather from the nor’easter of Sept. 26 weekend. Live music from 3 to 6 p.m. by “Waitin’ On Sundown.” We will also have great food, baked goods, basket raffle and a cake walk. The Parkland Garden Club will meet 7 p.m. at St. John’s UCC, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville. The program “Natural Vanilla” will be presented by member Cindy Haenn. Lower Macungie Township Environmental Advisory Council will be hosting a free “Transform Your Yard Into A Pollinator Paradise” program 7 p.m. at Lower Macungie Community Center, 3450 Brookside Road, Macungie. Join them for an inspiring presentation with local speaker, Karen Campbell, (Certified Pollinator Steward and PA Master Naturalist), on how to turn your yard into a pollinator paradise with more butterflies, songbird and vibrant life! The Sanctuary at Haafsville will be holding their Barktoberfest 2026 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their booth at the Promenade Shops Barktoberfest. Enjoy a paws-itively fun day filled with pet-friendly activities, entertainment, vendors, giveaways and plenty of fall fun for the whole family.
Oct. 22
Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will be accepting orders until Oct. 22 for their Kauffman’s Chicken Barbecue. The meal will include half a chicken, baked potato, applesauce and roll. They will also be selling apple dumpling with or without syrup. Pickup will take place 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center, 4350 Broadway, Allentown, will be holding its fourth annual flu shot clinic 2 to 6 p.m. They will be offering flu vaccines for individuals 6 months and older. They will also be offing tours of the forensic center. Hot dogs and light refreshments will be served and there will be plenty of giveaways.
Oct. 29
The Sanctuary at Haafsville, in partnership with Ciocca of Allentown, will be holding a Trunk or Treat event 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Ciocca Subaru, 4611 Hamilton St., Allentown. There will be trunks full of goodies for kids and food provided. Also, meet adoptable dogs and cats.
Nov. 7
Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will be holding its legendary all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The meal includes two huge homemade meatballs, a salad, drink and homemade dessert. Take out is also available. Tickets are available at the door. There is a cost for adults and children 5-12 years old. Children 4 years old and under are free. Handicap accessible if needed at end of church, lower level. They will also be having a basket raffle. For more information, call the church at 610-395-0067.
