Wildlands hosting Halloween event Oct. 2

Upper Macungie Township’s Parents Night Out event will take place on Oct. 2.

Enjoy a night off while the kids have a night of fun!

Drop your kids off at the Community Center from 5 to 8 p.m. for games on the turf or basketball court, followed by pizza and a movie.

Activities will be led by the Elementary EnerGym instructors, Kyle Creyer, a fourth-grade teacher at Veterans Elementary School, and Dr. Dietz, a second-grade teacher at East Penn School District.

Wildlands Conservancy will be hosting its Creepy Crawlies and Candy Hunt 7 p.m. Oct. 2 at Breinigsville Park.

Get ready for a wild night of frights and delights as the Wildlands Conservancy kicks things off with a thrilling live animal and insect show — meet some real-life creepy crawlies up close (if you dare!).

Then, grab your flashlights and head into their glow-in-the-dark field for a candy hunt like no other.

It’s a spooky, sweet adventure that’s perfect for curious critter-lovers and candy collectors alike!

This event is perfect for kids, families, and nature lovers of all ages.

The club meets the first Wednesday of each month from 7 to 8 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Oct. 7.

Teens join the township each month for their Teen Anime Club, a fun and welcoming space to watch anime, discuss favorite shows and characters, play games, and connect with fellow anime fans!

Elementary EnerGym for kids will take place on Mondays Oct. 12 through Nov. 16 at the Community Center Turf Field.

Times are 5 to 5:50 p.m. for kids ages 5 to 7 and 6-6:50 p.m. for kids ages 8 to 11.

Elementary EnerGym is a 50-minute youth program designed to keep elementary-aged kids active, build coordination and confidence, develop new friendships and have fun. Each class introduces a variety of sports, games, and movement activities.

The program will be coached by Kylie Creyer, a fourth-grade teacher at Veterans Elementary School and Dr. Dietz, a second grade teacher at East Penn School District.

Wiggles, Giggles and Lullabies will take place on Wednesday’s from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Oct. 14-28.

This is a fun three-week series for babies and toddlers six weeks to 4 years of age and their caregivers.

Enjoy baby yoga, music, stories, sensory play, and interactive activities designed to encourage development, connection, and fun.

This program will be led by Larissa Noto and instructors from The Lovely Little Lotus.

Lil Athletics Multi-Sport classes for kids aged 2 to 6 will take place through Oct. 15 at the Community Center.

Times are 5 to 5:45 p.m. for kids ages 2 to 3 years old; 5:55 to 6:40 p.m. for kids ages 3 to 4 years old, and 6:45 to 7:30 p.m. for kids ages 4 to 5 years old.

Participants should wear sneakers and comfortable athletic attire.

Parents must remain at all classes.

Kids will be introduced to multiple sports in a fun, noncompetitive instructional program.

Lil Athletics uses fun, colorful props and equipment to add to the upbeat environment and make each lesson exciting for all.

The township in partnership with Lehigh County Aging and Adult Service will be hosting its Healthy Steps in Motion running Fridays 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. until Nov. 13.

Designed for older adults of all fitness levels, it is endorsed by Silver and Fit.

Participants will learn the value of warm-up, balance and coordination exercises, cardiovascular health, strength and stretching exercises and cool down activities.

Concerts in the Park series running through October at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road, takes place at 7:30 p.m. on the last Saturday of each month unless otherwise noted.

Each concert will showcase at least two live performances featuring a variety of musical styles and local talent.

Admission is free.

Food and drink vendors will be on-site to keep you refreshed and satisfied.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St, Fogelsville, will be holding its fall basket social 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 3.

Preview night will take place 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 2.

Tickets may be purchased/placed both days, take-out food items will be available only on Oct. 3.

Winners will be drawn at the end of the event and contacted by phone.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post), will be accepting orders until Oct. 4 for their hoagie sale.

Options available are regular Italian with everything or no peppers, no onions with peppers, no onions or peppers, ham and cheese; no onions or peppers, turkey; no onions or peppers, roast beef; no onions or peppers, tuna and veggie.

Ingredients supplied by Thomson’s Meat Market, Walnutport.

Hoagie pickup will take place 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 13.

They will also be accepting orders until Oct. 22 for their Kauffman’s Chicken Barbecue. The meal will include half a chicken, baked potato, applesauce and roll.

They will also be selling apple dumpling with or without syrup. Pickup will take place 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31.

The church will be holding its legendary all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 7.

The meal includes two huge homemade meatballs, a salad, drink and homemade dessert.

Take out is also available. Tickets are available at the door.

There is a cost for adults and children 5 to 12 years old. Children 4 and under are free. Handicap accessible if needed at end of church, lower level.

They will also be having a basket raffle.

Zions Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, will be holding its Apple Dumpling Festival 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 10.

The church has filled its craft spaces already and secured The Perk-up Truck, and Top of the Hill Grill.

They are seeking gift baskets/items for the basket raffle, and donations of desserts to sell at the dessert table.
